I have a Sony xplod HU and I should have included this info at first, but no....the pitch of the whistle does not change at all with the rpms or anything. It is very high pitch, almost sounds like the noise you hear when a loud noise makes your ears ring. hahaha and no, it's not my ears...

what do you mean by check them? Like connections to the amp and stuff?

Hey guys, I recently installed an amplifier in my pick-up truck to power 4 speakers. The truck had just 2 speakers in it at first then I added 2 more and the amp to power all 4. Anyway, all was fine for a few weeks after the install, however Just the other day I noticed a really high/fine...

Well I got the HU as a xmas gift last year so I didn't have a choice in it. (not that I would have known then anyway). Would you recommend me forgetting the RCA cables and using the speaker input jacks on the amp? I'm assuming that would allow me the fade feature, but would be more complicated.

That's pretty cool, I can just put that in line with one set of RCA's and I can control the volume of a set of speakers? How do I Know what is the front set and the rear set? I'm assuming channel A is front and Channel B is rear?

Thanks for your help guys. Before I read this I went to PC Richards where I had the HU installed for free and the guy showed me the remote wire. All I have to figure out now is the RCA cables. I have a separate thread posted with questions about that if you're interested in helping this newb...

Hi, I am installing a 4 channel 400watt amp to amplify 4 speakers in my pick-up truck. My HU only has one left and one right RCA output. Can I just put a couple Y-splitters in line after the HU so I can do the job and amplify all 4 speakers? I know that by doing this you compromise quality...

Can anyone tell me where on the back of my HU I hook up my system remote control wire? Thanks. At first I was thinking it was that empty jack to the left, but now im guessing it could be that blue wire seen at the top of the pic.

The thing circled in red is the "jack" i was asking about. I don't see anywhere else the system control wire would go. Do you know?

I have a Sony Xplod CDX-GT42OU HU (yeah I know they ****) that I am connecting to an amplifier. There is a vacant jack in the back of the HU that I am assuming is for the system remote control wire. Does anybody know where I can get the plug for this jack?? I went to PC Richards and the dope...

Thanks again Plutoman. My amp is a 80wx4 max and yes it is 4 channels. so I think Im OK. My 4" ers are rated for over 150 watts. Plus I wont be cranking this system to the max ever. I'm asuming with my set up I'd keep the gains at the "normal" position. Is this what you would guess as well?
