Engine whine and ground loop fixes... take two

I think the Pioneers have an internal fuse that grounds the RCAs. They blow very easy. If you unplug the RCA while powered, etc. The adapter I made above fixed it 100%. I have sent them to two other people and it fixed their Z1 and Z2 problems.

    PAC and tire pressure sensors

There are about 10 of us with the same issue. And a couple have been to the dealer for TPS programming. The only thing that will stop the error is unplugging the PAC from the trucks data bus. Its a wierd issue for sure !

    PAC and tire pressure sensors

Just an update. Have been working with PAC on this and the issue might effect other vehicles in other ways. Pac mentioned they have an employee with a G35 that gets has tire pressure issues at the same intersection every day on his way to work. I have noticed my service TPS happens often in...

    RCA cable noise

Thansk for info. Mine is 100% silent with the a grounded RCA (just one) and I sent my adapter to two friends and it fixed theirs as well. I am pretty sure you are right about the SMD. They must be really sensitive. Rich

    PAC and tire pressure sensors

Installed a new Z2 a week ago with PAC OS-2 Bose, CM1 and SWI-PS. I have been having errors with my Tire Pressure sensors (06 Trailblazer SS) and was ready to take it to the dealer. I just ran across two other guys with same vehicle with similar PAC stuff that are having the same issue. Has...

^^^ Good info and thanks ! I am using a Pioneer Z2. So the factory head unit is gone. It gets tougher all the time. There are modules everywhere in new vehicles. Onstar, heated seats, opra lighting, etc. I have 4 guage power on left of vehicle and preamp cables on the right. Both sides have...

    SPLs and loud??

I have a trailblazer with a JL-audio 500/5 amp. I have 4 JL speakers in the doors (front and rear). I added a JL-audio stealthbox which is a shallow sidemount enclosure with 10"sub. Is there a a proper way to test DBs? I have a cheap sound level meter and I just pulled up a dynamic song and...

Create a JPG file exactly 500x240 pix. Make a CD with a folder called pictures and put your JPGs in the pictures folder. I have been told that it helps to have 100 meg of of files on the root of CD. I have a couple 50 meg zip files. Not sure if it helps but has always worked for me. Insert...

    RCA cable noise

I agree that "The ripple usually comes from the alt". But I dont think there is a problem elsewhere. There are hundreds of threads on this site about users grounding the RCAs at the head unit and noise going away. I am really surprised that the RCAs on the head unit are not at ground anyway...

    2006 Trailblazer after market radio...help

You can get around the chimes harness but chimes wont work. Your retained power comes from the main harness you buy. To keep all functionality you need: main radio harness like a PAC OS-2 model Chimes PAC CM1 Steering wheel harness PAC SW1 if your radio will support control input. I just...

05 trailblazer ls - SS grille?

You can put a SS grill and bumper in a LS. I have a SS now and there are at least 5 guys on some forums frequent that have done it. It can get pricey though. By time you buy the brake ducts, bumper, lower grill, upper grill and possiblly headlights (depending on what you have now), the price...

Engine whine and ground loop fixes... take two

I have posted this elsewhere, but the easiest way to ground and not worry about soldering is to buy these Steren connectors (310-460WH) used for home "in wall" wiring and remove the plastic and add a ring terminal. Here is what it looks like. And this is what you would do with the ring...
