unless the OP is having issues with keeping his voltage up, a battery IMO won't do much at all.

i got one years ago from a shop that was closing up for just under 200. (this was before i discovered CA.com or any other audio forums) sealed @ 1.75 ft^3 actully sounded really good. i still wouldn't pay new price for one, but for how much i spent, i was really happy.
