    mounting amps on boxs.....

Personally I never mount my amp to my box. I suppose if I absolutely had to I would try to put at the very least some rubber spacers in there. BTW....that amp is HUGE

    sundown/DC vs 2012 type r

A guy 3 blocks down the road is running two 5th generation type r d4's with a DD m1c in a shop built box. You can wrap garbage in a pretty box with a bow on top. Its still garbage.

    sundown/DC vs 2012 type r

As a previous owner of type r's I cant tell you....... 1. yes the type r's will get loud in the right box 2. they will sound like garbage in ANY box 3. the cone will come off if they get pushed in the summer time 4. you will most likely be happier with Sa's or Dc's. I've heard good things...

    Need help with a disagreement

If you have a 1200 watt RMS @ 1 ohm amp and two 750 watt rms dual 4 subs wired at a 1 ohm load you could max the amp and not damage the subs correct?

JL 500/1 install help? ? melted fuse holder!

What sub (subs) are you using? Check your voltage at the amp. Check your ground. Make sure your not wired for lower then 2 ohms. There is a walk through on JL's website on how to set your gain using a DMM. I found that with this amp its better to set the gain to JL's spec and then back it off...

    Best stock audio system

Aston Martin Vanquish. No idea what it comes with. Owner said it was pushing 1200 watts. sounded pretty good. Dodge viper srt-10 with premium system isnt too bad either. Not very balanced though. Too much bass compared to the mids and highs

two JL 12w6v2's on a JL 500/1v1 amp?

So i was thinking about adding another JL 12w6v2-d4 to the one I already have. My question is will my JL 500/1 handle it or will it Chernobyl? Will I have to wire the subs in a series/parallel to save my amp? How much difference is there between 1 ohm and 1.5 ohm?

    Need new amp

Strange how a few sites list the w3v3 at 300 watt rms while JL and a few others say 500 watts. And for the life of me I cant find a w3v3 thats dual 4. I can on find a single 4 or a single 2. If the op has 10w3v3-4 which is a single 4 wouldnt two give you 2 ohm? And I hope jl doesnt lie about...

How much power on stock electrical?

At what wattage would you recommend doing the big 3? I was looking into it but was told that with my set up JL 500/1 that I wouldnt need to do it. The guy (local car audio installer) said not to worry about it unless im running 2k watts or more.

How much power on stock electrical?

Honestly I wouldnt do the big 3 just yet. There is a good chance it wont make any difference anyways. I would set the system up first to see if there are any problems with the electrical system and then go from there.

    Need new amp

Pretty sure the 12w3v3-4 only rated for 300 watt rms. Wouldnt 500 watts do damage over time? And correct me if im wrong but two 4 ohm subs can only be wired down to a 2 ohm load.

    Need new amp

My bad. I swear your post said 12w3's. Im sure it would work great with 10w3's. Plus that will open you up to other subs in the future without having to change amps. From what I have been told its always better to have more amp then you need. That way you can give your subs the power they need...
