Alright dumb ? time. I downloaded some test tones and tried to read the voltage w/a multimeter, but no matter the freq, i get no voltage. the tone plays, but i get no readings on the meter, why?!

fuse holder is prob too small for the 12v. i'd prob use 10ga wire w/ maybe a 7.5a fuse. again overkill-but i haven't burned up my car yet. refer to the "wire and fuse calculator"

Here's a *very* crude diagram of what i hooked up. the relay does not have a cap in it. rather it takes the signal from the HU and switches on the 12v from the battery. the wire from the battery is 10g and it's fused with an inline blade fuse like this...

I'm kinda paranoid when it comes to fusing so i ran a 10ga fused off the battery to the relay. didn't fuse the remote turn on, but did fuse the accessory leads (fans, amps, neons, etc.) off of the relay because they're smaller than my original 10ga. I used a cheapy small ga fuse block.

dude, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use a relay off the remote turn on for accessories. That line is made for switching on 1 accessory and that's it. anymore and you risk frying your HU. a relay is REAL easy to install, gives you room for expansion, and the piece of mind that things are done right...

I've got a perfect 12.1D in a sealed 1.0^3 box. Getting 350 RMS from an alpine amp. sounds real purty. Q-logic boxes arn't supposed to be the greatest. But if you must use one, they should both be about the same. Airspace is airspace. Better to take a staurday morning and build your own.
