Hi, I'm installing a new set of component speakers. Due to space constraints I'm currently holding the tweeter in with some foam and tape. It holds it perfectly fine, but is there any danger / negative effect on the sound from me putting tape over the rear of the tweeter / magnet? Thanks!

That makes sense. Accessing where they split sounds like it'll be the hard part - is this the area you both mean by kick panel?

Meaning a crossover here where the wire comes up?

Would I avoid running wires through the accordion if I were to have separate crossovers for the tweeter and the woofer? I'm trying to keep the install as simple as possible without tearing the car completely apart!
