    Alpine MPRF 240 problem

I'm gonna check the ground and I might even put a bigger wire on it because I it's pretty small as I remember. It's getting as much ventilation and I can get for it, I've even put a 12v fan blowing directly on the amp. It is bridged on the 3rd and 4th channels but I need to check the gain...

    Alpine MPRF 240 problem

ok, so I have this alpine amp and whenever I turn up my stereo past 25 or so (check signature) the amp will stop working for a second, then turn back on, then turn off, so on and so forth. I have a 4 gauge wire going to the amplifier straight from the battery with an in-line 30amp fuse. When...

    Audio Gremlins?

Well, I messed around with the eq and the faders and got the car sounds pretty good. the sub works, and before, it always had, but it was just really quite. So I'm getting good sound now but I still have some crackling and popping sounds when I turn on the switch. Any ideas why the stereo...

    Audio Gremlins?

I'll try my brother's JL 10w3 with custom box out, to see if that makes a difference. I've checked the connections before, and them seem to be pretty solid.

    Audio Gremlins?

The sub cuts out whether or not the car is running, but is more prone to cut out when the car is running. My front speakers are also connected to the amp, which would mean that when only the sub cuts out, the amp is still on, correct? If so, that's the case is that only the sub cuts out. I...

    Audio Gremlins?

The amp I am using is an Apline MPR-F240 4 channel amp. I'm running an 8-gauge wire directly from the positive battery terminal to the power in on the amp. I'm running a little 12v fan off the terminals on the amp to help cool it down because this amp likes to get pretty warm under my seat...

    Audio Gremlins?

The switch I have is set up before the head unit. It is connected directly to the battery through the fuse box and the amp is then turned on through the head unit. I know about the head unit turning on the amp, but that's not the popping sound I hear. There is more than one pop most of the...

    Audio Gremlins?

The crackling sound happens I believe in the back speakers. Those are wired directly to the internal amp inside the head unit. As for the sub, again, I'm not absolutely positive, but I don't think it turns completely off, and sometimes, I hear it just a tad but mostly not at all.

    Audio Gremlins?

ok so I have my setup and for the last 2 or 3 months I've been having an issue. I made a switch to turn on my stereo without wiring it to the ignition so I can play it with the keys out(info). When I turn the stereo on, it loads and does its thing and then the cd starts to play. Within about...
