Are there any noticeable benefits with going with a T harness verses using something like Posi Tap to tap into the speaker wires for high-level input for a subwoofer amp?

Anyone have any comparison between the two?

My 04 Chevy Avlanche with Bose is giving me fits. Does the factory head unit trim base as you turn up the volume? What does everybody usually see for voltage on the audio leads going to the bose amp? How does most people usually integrate subs with the bose?
