Literature at purchase says something like to reduce electronic hum/engine compartment induced pollution etc. I ran it on two different F350 diesels with HO alts and it was a silent system. I woulda used it but I didn't have enough length for my current f150 setup.

To remotely say 160db is safe for your hearing is bullshlt. Aside from that, like its been mentioned lots of money and the more enclosed your space will be the more likely you are to hit your goal. Good luck with your build.
