Not color coded, just labeled sub out 1 & sub out 2. I put in a splitter I might try & hook up both rca's & see what happens though

    HU has sub out 1 & 2 NOT L & R

Well that just *****-------but thanks. If I would have known it was for 2 amps I would have used a single triple shielded rca that I had left over from my last truck--------off to radioshack I go.

    HU has sub out 1 & 2 NOT L & R

Dammit I have a Clarion CZ401 HU & a Kenwood mono class D. Ran RCA's to the back & then it hit me. The head unit rca's said sub out 1 & sub out 2 & the amp has left & right line ins & outs. Do I just hook up & go, or do I abandon one of the rca's & get a...

Here's my varmint plinker. The pic was from a shoot I did selling the Bianchi vest on Ebay-----had more people interested in the model than the vest. Told em if the price was right I would let the M203 go though. ok, can't figure out how to post a pic...

    Sealed area volume----quick question

OK, building boxes for 8" Boston's. Manufacturer recommends .3 cu ft I can build up to .41 cu ft Size constraints are due to box location without altering my rig. I listen to rock mainly, but my musical interest would be described as A-D-D for the most part. I have read that manufacturers...

    Wiring Gauge Suggestions

Good points KHA. I threw in the nec to show the difference between the ratings ;-) I hope my previous post didn't come across as what fuse per IASCA awg recommendations. I was just trying to emphasize the importance of a fuse at the battery & what that fuse actually protects.

    Wiring Gauge Suggestions

Let's start off with powering that amp. YES you need a fuse at the battery, not to protect the amp, but to protect the wire & your vehicle. Without looking up the specs of that amp the simple rule is the fuse at the battery needs to be equal to the sum of all fuses on the amp. In your...

4ohm in series or 8ohms in parallel?

Thanks, that's going to be the plan. I have a 03 F150 ext cab all stock sound today, but hoping by next weekend I'll have my sound system complete. Clarion CZ401 HU going to 2 amps (kenwood pushing the Bostons) & a Jensen 4 channel pushing 2 Rockford Fosgate 6x9 Punch (rear doors), 2...

Uhm, not sure I can do that, I think the subs only have single connections. Here is a link to the specs---- pdf http://www.bostonacoustics.com/PDFs/manuals/G1Man.pdf

4ohm in series or 8ohms in parallel?

If I have them set @ 4ohms, & run in parallel that would be 2 ohms, but the amp supposedly pushes 850 watts & my subs are 200w rms each so IMHO 850w pushing into 400w speakers is just asking for a disaster waiting to happen. So it looks like the popular opinion would be to set at 8ohm...
