installing a sub, and an amp

The rear speakers work, there ARE front speakers I think but they don't work/have enough power. If i set the fader to the very front in the car I can hear them very faintly. The red cable has a rubber cap thing on it so I think it's okay, but i'm not quite sure.

i can't find where the cables go, but i can replace the white RCA fairly easy i'm sure and yes it was taken in the trunk. i'm really wondering what the plugs in the 2nd picture do. the full on red cable in the first pic is hooked onto the battery of the car.

hi, i recently bought a car and wondering what some of these cables do, and what i should buy for them. i think i the white plug in pic 3 is broken. (the yellow red and white are connected) i dont really know too much about car audio systems so if anyone could just rundown what these do that'd...
