Is there a big difference between the IDQ V3 and IDQ V2?

I've done ported boxes before and didn't like the sound quality. I was hoping that upgrading to a 12 would give me more volume and keep the sound quality using a sealed box.

The IDQ 12 V.3 is out of my price range, but I can stretch for an IDQ 12 V.2. How much difference is there?

I can't control the volume from either the iPod or the HU. It plays, but only at one volume.

I tried turning the Aux on and off, and still no luck.
