So when i am wiring this thing up I am going to connect the ILL wire from the car (gray) to the Dimmer Control wire on the deck (orange/white). And I am going to do what with the DIM (brown) from the car? Thanks for being patient with a noob:banghead:

I'm looking at buying a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X592. The manual is at here. Page 26 has the info on which wires go where.

So then what does the Illumination wire do? the stereo that I am planning on getting does not seem to have this.

Well, looking at that chart, I don't know what DIM means. I am assuming that ILL means dash light illumination, MEM in +12V constant and PWR is +12V accessory. Is DIM something that I am not going to use?
