    Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread

This is very true. If you are using the stock alternator, the wiring used was based on what the alt can put out. Installing a bigger wire on that end is not going to improve much due to the same amount of current being drawn through. If you have the same generating plant making the same amount...

Solder wire ends? Speaker, Power etc.

The amp isn't moving anywhere. It's attached to a piece of mdf that's attached to a cross member that holds the gas tank in. The JL amp has round ports that the wire directly fits into so I can't use any fork like connectors.

Solder wire ends? Speaker, Power etc.

Yes, I am using the correct size wire (4 gauge). How tight should it be? Should it be torqued down until you can't turn it anymore? I am afraid if I get it that tight, strands will be breaking.

    Remote Starter Install on GTO?

Test stand: Trying to turn on avn6600

Well, all the wiring was correct. I found what the problem was. Apparently, the power supply unit I had was not putting out enough amps for the Nav system to function. I plugged it all into a battery and it all seems to be working now! WooHoo

Test stand: Trying to turn on avn6600

I want to test my AVN6600 before I place it in the vehicle. I have never installed a Nav system, so this is a first. I am thinking that it should be similar to any other double DIN radio install. To test systems in the past I used a 120V to 12-14V DC converter and connected the const 12V and...
