My review for the Sony CDX-GT620IP

Summary ------- Most reviews point out the goodies, good sound etc. Yes the unit is good, but has a good share of negatives too, some of it may be called nitpicking, but you read and decide in case you are planning to buy one.... In summary, good player for most people that are not...

in a car/road noisy environment, 64kbps is good enuf for many songs that are somewhat vocal centric and dont have that many fine instrumental sounds... the point of this thread is not about 64kbps, it is about some lousy limitation in sony's design which you can easily hit, say at 128 kbps...

No Mr audiophile, it is like your Buick letting you carry only 2 big fat guys but cannot handle 4 slim guys.

Please recommend a head unit for me

After four years of owning a Alpine CDA-9827 (liked it a lot), I am in the market again. This time I want it to be a budget player (upto around $160) with these priorities. + Play mp3 + wma + Minimal jazz/color/brightness/lights on the display (my older alpine had a display blackout mode...

Pioneer units - near useless shuffle/random play?

I have been looking to buy a new head unit and am considering the pioneer DEH-2000MP, DEH-P3000IB. I was testing them at circuit city and found that the next button ALWAYS takes you to the sequentially next track EVEN if the shuffle/random is ON. I noticed this with both WMA discs as well as...

    Alpine CDA-9827 or Pioneer DEH-P7600MP

I bought the CDA-9827 recently. The player sounds very nice except for some annoyances, and here are my opinions on this player for anyone that may be interested. First the bad, 1) The blue lights are too bright in the night time and there is no option to turn it off. The dimmer that they...
