how easy is it to get past a 2 way alarm?

Most current sensing alarms won't detect a .6 voltage drop. Hell, there are some ghetto multimeters that won't even pick that up. I'm talking +1V difference. That's usually what it takes to get some alarms to trigger their current sensing capabilities. And optima's won't drop .6v from a...

how easy is it to get past a 2 way alarm?

Oh, now it's voltage sensing too? Current and voltage are 2 different things. Typically one thinks of current sensing alarms as the "one wire hookups" measuring sudden voltage drop and voltage sensing as positive triggers from any source providing 5+vdc. Current sensing is proven to not be...

    Mecp Master Installer Test= Bullshit

It's very tough, if not impossible to make enough money installing to afford the luxuries this world has to offer. I installed for about 5 years in the 90's and after maxing out at about 7.00 an hour I bailed and haven't been back. I have found more money working in a shipyard than in auto...

how easy is it to get past a 2 way alarm?

I guess I just have a criminals point of view, that's all. If I'm looking for a civic to break into and I don't have a clue what any 10 of them have inside I will go for the one with the LED because he's probably got something inside that is of value if he is trying to deter thieves. Yes, it...

    Reccommended Eclipse HU's?

I have the CD8445, the equivalent of the CD5000 and it is by far the best sounding HU I have ever owned. I could only imagine the 8455 or 7000 sounding a lil bit better as far as xover and eq points. Any eclipse is a good product and you won't be disappointed.

    first fiberglass project

The guy has blue seats in a red truck. I really don't think he's that worried about wiring. But seriously the only thing you could do is either glue some carpet over the wall and hide the wires behind it, mount the amp under the seat if there is enough room or build a amp rack.

how easy is it to get past a 2 way alarm?

If someone is breaking into your ride they already know what you have. Shock sensors do nothing but cause false alarms. Unless you have high dollar rims and tires or convertible there is no reason to have a shock or prox sensor. I live in a navy town so jets fly constantly and shocks just...

    Eclipse AVN7000 still the best?

Not sure if it fits your application but I just went with a good cd unit and made a shelf for my laptop in my truck. Works great and then I got MS streets and trips for $100 and I have audio, video, mp3's, dvd and navigation for the price of a tom tom. Doesn't work well with passengers though.

    pioneer head unit help

With the car running pull the rca's from the amps and see if you still have noise. If so then it's coming from your amps. If not then it's between the HU and amps. Probably from the RCA's either they are crappy and broken internally or they are ran near power. Could be a HU ground issue as...

    where to ground??

Are you running amps? If so, how are your rca's routed and are they near power wires? If not then it's probably your HU ground. I'd carry it back to BB and have them fix it.

    Pioneer P880prs vs Eclipse cd7000

The time alignment features alone make the decks worthwhile. Even with pyramid highs you will be able to tell a difference between a deck with it and without it.

    2v to 4.5v - Interesting

My change from my old pioneer to my Eclipse was night and day. I did have to adjust the gains down from the previous pioneer setting but after that the difference was very noticable and the sound quality is better on FM and Sirius but most importantly it is much much cleaner on CD's. There...
