    thanks for all the help. as far as removing all the plastic crap and such. it has to fit between those 2 screw posts to hold the oem grill to the door so 1" diameter is about the best i can do to fit between the posts. it's the depth i've been concerned with. could probably make a custom mount...

    you'd think that by just looking at them. but inside the grill there isn't much diameter room. and they have a shallow mounting depth, but i don't see why i couldn't maybe use some washers and maybe a little longer screws to fix it. don't know haven't really looked at doing that yet.

    maybe the HD62s aren't for me then. I will be deadening the doors, but i still don't want to use more than 100w RMS. I honestly don't even listen to music that loud. I just want real good sound. And no, they aren't going into kicks. They are going in my stock locations.

    thanks for the replies. how do the Arc and JBL size up to the DLS in terms of sound? how are the Alpine Type R's compared to the others? I also looked at the DLS PS6 and their tweet has a shallow mount depth and is only a 1". I know the Type R's 1" tweet can be shaven to fit behind the grill. Or...
