I had two of the older type r's and I thought they sounded excellent and were loud enough for me back in the day, but I haven't heard the new ones with the wierd surround that they carry at Best Buy now. I'm surprised the Kicker guy didn't have a solid opinion between the two.

How did it cost you so much from ebay? If you set it at $.01 it doesn't cost hardly anything. Did you start the auction higher than that or set a buy it now price?

Get a couple of VLX-400's if you can get your hands on them. There is a nw AX series sub that puts out over 4k watts that they have on their new line if I remember correctly. Get ahold of Flakko and see if he can get you some details and/or prices. That'll be new so it'll have a warranty and stuff.

My friend used to have 3 w6v2's and they sounded nice. I don't think one of those subs with only a 500/1 will get you into the 140's, but it'll definately sound good and be more than loud enough for a daily driver.

Ya I know, but at the time that was all I could afford. I might get an md2 or wait for the md3. I also didn't raise the frequency on my box before I metered. I have Aeroports so I could have just taken them out and gone from 32 to 40 and gotten a better score as well probably.
