alright soo after setting the gains to 50 max volume out of 62, i just burned a new mp3cd and skipped around a few heavy hitting songs at 45 volume and it sounded real real good, and the highs didnt cut off. so im crossing my fingers now. i wanna figure this out though, maybe it had something to...

i dont see any other light besides the power-on blue light. im using TMA rca's for the sub amp, and Scocshe or whatever that crap is for the highs amp, which worked fine on the sub amp i had for the past year until it got stolen. i have a spare set of jl audio rca's if you think thats worth a try.

oh and as im staring at the f240 when the highs cut out it has no change in light, as in its powered on light stays blue as usual, no other lights are visible

i like where they're both at, its just a matter of finding out why the highs cut out on some songs at high volumes. is there an exact way to find out with a cheap dmm if that is indeed the case? i dont wanna pull apart the door panels unless absolutely necessary

also i was watching the sub as it played songs like "Put On" and for some of the offbeats (in between the big hits) it fluctuates/moves a lot of air, but doesnt make a lot of sound. is this normal

i bought it used from a guy off craigslist, he said he used it for 5 months. came with the box he made for it to "jl specs" and some wiring which i have no use for. i just retuned it by ear for the highs/mids to 50/62 and by dmm for the sub to 50/62. sounds much better in terms of sub output...

i used a 50hz 0db test tone as its the only one i could find. i originally had the gains at 1/2 just basically by ear but this was done using the cheapo dmm. it sucks cus i want to turn it up so i can hear the sub and then wham my highs cut off. tough situation lol. and yes volume goes up to 62...
