well thanks for all your help guys, i'll check the amp on a mates system. i'm off to work now anyways, i wired up one speaker so at least i have some music for the drive :) i'll sort the amp and subs and other speaker out later peace

zack39648 - yes that is what happened turdferfueson2- sony explode head unit sony explode 6x9 rear speakers 2 x sony explode 12inch subs 1 x 500wrms sony explode amp 1x 800wrms sony explode amp pos and neg wires are 8 gauge speaker wires to subs are 8 gauge too speaker wires to 6x9's...

i had already checked all the fuses nah im only touching the remote wire to the terminal, as the light comes straight on i know right away its still not working, so no, i dont have any wire insulation under the terminal aswell

trying wiring straight to batt now......................ok, hooked straight to battery no protect light pos and neg but remote to pos means protect light comes on.

the gain is right down already.....protect light comes on as soon as i put the remote wire on...

fuses are fine it stays on

pretty sure amp isn't dead man, i have 2 amps and both are doing the same when i try...grrrr....this is so frustrating. my speakers run off my amps so when i say no music i mean no music, not just no bass

hi guys, the protect light is on on my amp. i have tried everything i know to get it to go off but it wont. amp worked fine then just stopped working one day. i have tried everything i can find on the internet to help me but nothing has worked. ground wire seems fine its getting perfect power...
