    Blown(ish): Kicker ZX1000.1, PA A3000DB, Zeus ZX 1000, more...

$400 shipped for the lot, anyone? I tested the A3000DB, and I did end up mostly fixing it. The only problems remaining with it is a missing terminal screw, and the fan is noisy when it starts up.

Possibly. I'll give it some time and see if anybody wants all of it first.   ---------- Post added at 07:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:29 PM ----------   PM replied.

I lost interest in car audio years ago, so these have just been taking up space in my closet. Hifonics Zeus ZX 1000 500Wx2 RMS @ 2ohm, 1000x1 @4 I think the only problem with this that it's picking up noise somewhere in the signal path. Power Acoustic A3000DB ~2300 RMS @ 1ohm I was...

WTB 1/0 gauge inline fuse holders...

You might try talking to wgsj_fortvalley, he sold me a couple of holders very cheap. They are the non-waterproof box style, like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260285146394 I don't know if he has any left anyway, but if you're interested it might be worth...

    Speaker Wire

For the same size wire, higher strand count doesn't increase conductivity. It usually increases flexibility. Like IDSkoT said, Knukonceptz is great. Relatively cheap, and their stuff is as good as anybody else around (and better than most). Don't be tempted by cheap kits on ebay. You...

    Question about power supplies

Thanks Gebrochen, those are some great suggestions. I've been looking for a cheap power supply capable of some real amperage. Also, I wouldn't recommend trying to wire ATX power supplies in parallel. Depending on the supplies, you might be ok . . . or you might blow them up. Big diodes...

    Setting gains with dmm

Like McIntosh said, the DC resistance might be 1 ohm, but the actual impedance that your amp sees isn't. It looks more like this: This is for my Mag in 2 cubes tuned to 27 Hz. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but you can see that it sure isn't constant.
