Weird thing just happened on my way home

It's all good now, today cooled down to 80 and went for a drive and never had any issues. I must say the new system sounds outstanding. I have the Kenwood DDX9705s with the idatalink, and its pretty ******* using the digital gauges on the headunit, because my car never had them.

Hmm ok thats what I figured it shutdown because the heat, I will have to be careful when its hot out. Also one of the speaker wires to the sub was a little bit shredded. So I re-stripped them. The amps are Memphis VIV400.4 & Memphis SRX250.1 Sub is wired to 2 ohm. Here's some pics

Weird thing just happened on my way home

So I just got home from work. It's around 100 outside here in Denver. I have a black VW Jetta. I was slamming my brand spanking new system full tilt on the way home. Suddenly I lost the base (single 12" Alpine). Oh crap did the amp overheat? WTF, but the other 4 channel amp is still working...

VW new headunit wiring hardness progamming

Ok so I bought a new headunit (Kenwood DDX9705S), replacing a Pioneer HU I got two years ago. And I already have the Volkswagen wiring harness in my 2009 Jetta, it has the special ignition turn-off to the radio. Expensive I paid $100 for the harness. I'm having it installed at a local shop...

    Crutchfield is awesomesauce!

Yes I wanted the Alpine Type S. I'm not really a huge audiophile, I would consider myself a midlevel, I like rock music with subs that have tight accurate bass (sealed box usually). I don't spend huge amounts of money on car audio. I have never owned more than say a total of 12 subs in my life...

    Crutchfield is awesomesauce!

They had no idea, in fact when I notified them about it (via chat), the sales rep was stunned a little and took a few minutes to verify, he initially thought it could be a typo or something on sonix. I don't think any retailer out there has the ability to automatically scan other retailer's site...

    Crutchfield is awesomesauce!

Yes I know customer service like this is rare, I was fully expecting my request to price match to be shot down instantly. But I reminded them I was a long time customer and spent lots of money there. I like crutchfield because of their well designed website. You put in you car info, and it...

    Crutchfield is awesomesauce!

Ok so I just ordered a single Alpine 12" Type-S SWS-12D4 from Crutchfield for $149. It's on its way still. So today I look at Sonic and notice the same sub is on sale for $79. I was stunned a little on the price. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45529_Alpine-Type-S-SWS-12D4.html So I told...

Kenwood DDX6705s shutting off at high vol.

The Kenwood DDX's are one of the best headunits you can buy. Your first problem is having Best Buy install it. Sounds like a ground problem, or other wiring issue. Take it back to them and have them check the install.

Hi Res Music - It's for Real

I just got a brand new Kenwood 9705S, and it supports high res. Got a decent system, quality speakers and amps. So can you only buy high res music digitally? Do you lose any quality copying it to usb flash drive? Any suggestions for some rock high res music tracks to get?

Pioneer AVH 2440 NEX remote help

Ya reaching over to play with buttons on the unit is not good. If you don't have steering wheel controls, then you could get some blutooth ones that you can stick on your steering wheel. Like this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0782TY4KC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A11S1SD1BHTWFM&psc=1
