    Naive query

Thinking of replacing an 800PRS with the 80PRS. To those in the know, is the chassis specification the same i.e. can I simply pull the older unit and slip in the newer unit? thanks

    DEH-710BT Query

Pulled an 800PRS and replaced with this unit. Need BT and did not want to purchase separate module, given the problems and limitations I had with the USB module I had purchased. Was running four coax, with use of a JL 300/4V2 amp. With this new unit, had it installed by Co I purchased the head...

    SQ Head Unit with usb

I agree with this. The 800PRS sounds excellent with CD's, but beyond that it can only accept lossy files and - depending upon the listener- are to degrees lesser sounding than the CD playback. The outboard USB adapter doesn't play *.wav so with this unit no way to play higher resolution files...

Head Unit USB to USB HD

For the last half a year or so I've been using both a CD-UB100 on an Pioneer Premiere 800 and the USB connection through the back of a Premiere 780BT. The CD-UB100 does not play WAV. That I don't like. Have reasonable mp3's on a WD 160 GB external that I play through that unit. While it can...

    lossless codec support via USB

Not compressed lossless (I was searching out this for flac files), but I found out this about two recent installs: a Pioneer 800PRS doesn't support *.wav through USB (I didn't pay attention to this when purchasing) and a Pioneer 700BT does support *.wav through USB (again, didn't pay...

Flush mount female USB connector for Pioneer P4000 DVD player

Yeah, with the 800PRS + USB adapter it's annoying if a person were to jump about song to song. But just picking a 'CD' and playing through 'tis o.k. And the unit itself is an excellent unit re: SQ. With my other Pioneer (700BT) incredible difference for USB, as it reads the entire HDD in about...

Recommend unit for use with external hard drive.

Recently had a Pioneer USB adapter hooked up to a 800PRS HU. Has no issues working with a WD 160GB "My Passport" 2.5 in HDD (this unit has a 500 mA requirement) in a 2001 Civic. I'm be trying this out with a 700BT in the next few days to see if it will work well with that HU. The adapter...

Flush mount female USB connector for Pioneer P4000 DVD player

Just had a Pioneer USB adapter hooked up to my 800PRS. The installer suggested a Clarion adapter cable from the USB port to a flush mount on the dash. Just as you were seeking, works well and very nice fit/finish. About $22. Unrelated, much as others I've been slightly dismayed by the USB...

    Pioneer CD-UB100 USB Adapter

A pretty straight forward thing, but I'm questioning how to go about hooking the hot lead to this unit. Instructions indicate NO to direct connect through firewall to battery. Also indicate no splicing into existing HU hot power line. What is the best way to connect this to continual 12V? thanks

    Simplistic Query - Focal 165 CA1

First time in 25-odd years that I considered putting in an aftermarket HU in a vehicle. On suggestion from installer, ended up with 800PRS HU w/ the above front speakers; this in a 2001 Civic sedan. Retained the stock rear under consideration of future upgrading. Had this for a while and no...

    Pioneer 800PRS in Canada

Found one of these units local. That is good. Just starting to get into auto sound, I could use an opinion/advice. I first came across the 800PRS when looking for a replacement for my 2001 Civic that had the best AM/FM sensitivity as I live in the sticks with very marginal radio reception...
