Is a 6 Farad capacitor too big?

generally a capacitor is sized accordingly: 1000wrms= 1 farad, 2000wrms = 2 farad etc it is possible your 6 farad wont hurt anything, HOWEVER, if you do the big three, which i recommend, and you have your cap, and your lights still dim, you need to upgrade something...start with the battery...

new guy looking to do own install...and need advice

hm. you may not even need to buy an antenna adaptor, not sure, check to see if you can fit it as is. as far as your inline fuses, the amps should have external fuses, add them up, and get that size or a little bigger to put 12 inches from the battery on your power cord. should be around 100-120...

Car wont start but lights and radio work!

yea youll need to jump it no doubt, but to add to what people are saying on here, if your battery was drained enough then there is a chance it wont hold a charge well. in other words, if you make a bunch of short trips (store, gas station, etc) in a row, your battery will die. recommend a new...

Clueless amateur - help me get my radio back!

yea man, when you upgrade your amp your def going to blow your stock speakers because most stock speakers can handle ~25 Watts RMS, and most 4 channel amps are above 40 W RMS. Watts RMS is the continuous power your amp will dish out. this is the most important thing to look at when you buy an...

    H/O Alternator help

hm. your right on the border of needing an upgraded alternator. i know people hate capacitors, as do i, but do you have any installed? a lot of people have issues with ho alternators. be careful of where you buy it... ohio generators makes good ho alternators...you get what you pay for.
