yes focals would be awesome. haha. but if he's deciding between alpine and infinty i'm sure the focals are deff way out of his price range.

in late 2005 or early 2006, can't remember, alpine changed up the wiring harness style. so i believe you will have to get a new wiring harness. i actually just installed a cda 105 in a friend of mines suburban. and another friends eclipse. haha. great deck for the price.

i've owned both amped, un amped in everyway shape and form. It really depends on what your application is. If you plan on adding a 4 channel amp. either type r's or infinity's will both sound great. if you just use your h/u's amp stay away from type r's been there and they sound like crap...

alright so your suggesting that i swap out the alpine power pack that i'm using with a seperate 4 channel amp? I also noticed that on the back of my 9886 it had a bunch of weird power on power off things. could that have anything to do with setting the amp right?
