pioneer headunit with dead pico fuse

okay so after months of analysis i had finally determined the noise coming through the speakers -ie alternator whine and buzzing etc.- was the pico fuse, turned out that it was dead, well i know almost everyone will suggest that i could either fix the fuse, or ground the rca preouts on the...

Buzzing noise through car speakers after installing second amp for speakers.

Hi guys, so up until now I only had one amp for my subs and my speakers were running through my receiver. So now I have a separate amp for my speakers, the power for both amps is just one wire from the battery into a power block and of course one wire for each amp, the main wire is hidden in the...

Need help with connecting two kicker cvr 4 ohm with alpine amp

Okay so I just killed my soundstream amp. Now I just bought an alpine mrp-f300 amp, it's four channels, now I wanna know how I can connect 2 kicker cvr 12 inch 4 ohm subs to the amp correctly so I don't kill my subs or my amp. The specs of the power ratings are: 50W x 4 at 4 ohms, 75W x 4 at 2...

i think my amp is blown

Okay so I set the multimeter to reistance measurement. I took one lead and touched the groun wire connected to the amp. Then I took the other lead and touched it on the RCA plugs ground wire -outer section- and I wasn't getting anything in terns of an actual number. I'm gonna do the second test...

i think my amp is blown

Okay so I connected an RCA cable from my iPod directly to the amp. Now it didn't make that noise but, what's weird is the amp didn't seem to be able to filter out the highs and mids, I could basically hear the song it self play through the subs. I of course turned it off right away but does it...

i think my amp is blown

okay so basically ur saying that the amp is incorrectly amplifying the sound? that is, its seeing low low idle frequencies as normal audio input and therefore amplifying them?

i think my amp is blown

i think my amp is blown

okay, yeah cuz id assume if there was a discontinuity from the receiver, then no signal should go through the receiver to the amp id assume, but ill first test with my iphone and if that works right then ill do the other tests. but thank you for ur help :-)

i think my amp is blown

i think my amp is blown

okay I'll try that. But do you think it would help if I connected an RCA cable from my iPhone to my amp directly to see if it's the amp or not?

i think my amp is blown

okay but what u were saying before that is check the ground wire for the amp and ground wire for the rca cable right? and what do u mean by continuity?
  13. M

i think my amp is blown

okay when u say the ground wire, do u mean the main ground wire for the receiver? or the amp?

i think my amp is blown

oh right sorry, so each amp is designed to be 4 ohms, but the voice coils are wired in parallel, so each sub is 2 ohms, and so, each channel on the amp receives 2 ohms from each sub. it is not bridged.

i think my amp is blown

ill try that, but keep in mind that the subs just keep constantly outputting the same beat, boom boom boom, and it never stops, until i turn off the stereo which of course turns off the amp. and yes i have a multimeter. thanks for ur help in advance btw.
