haha I'm sorry, I have no idea how I missed it, I usually read all posts. I haven't disconnected the REM wire yet. I'll give that a shot. Just curious, what will this show?

Just installed new system and sub randomly hitting when the car is off?? Help!

So I buy this "add a fuse" thing and it's just plug and play basically? Then how do I shut the amp and sub off? From the way the guys above described it, it sounded like a device I plug the remote on off into, it has like an 'on off' switch itself, and when i get out or in the car I'll turn it...

^ Alright, I'll have to get one of those on/off switches for the remote power. Where do I get one?? Thanks a ton!

I haven't tested it with either. I'm thinking of going with this answer. 1) because I can just ignore it and I'm tired and everything else is too complicated, and 2) because it actually does make sense. Maybe I'll plug it in, see if it just thumps once before turning on and after turning off...

Smart thinking. The issue for me as a newbie is that these wires go like inside the car. Where? I don't know, I've never wired my own setup lol. Just under stuff that you can't simply lift up and look. Then I'm sure it goes into the back/wiring of the head unit, which is the stock GPS/popup...

What's an LOC? For the remote power, it's just a skinny grey wire. Actually here, I took a pic of the wires once they were in I do really need some help with this. I'd love to set it up but can't figure it out. Like I asked earlier, could having the RCA cables in the wrong spots...

Those won't do anything, it all looks like it's plugged in nice and fine

The ground wire that plugs into the amp you mean? There can't be an issue I wouldn't think. It's coated in rubber all the way to the battery terminal. It's installed INSIDE the car upholstry so I can't see it but that shouldn't be the issue I wouldn't think (I'm a newbie though) Then again, I...

That's scary. What are the chances it's this? The battery is in the back, I have no idea how I'd find this. Did I do the smart/right thing by disconnecting the amp/sub?

No rhythm to it. It happened once, didn't happen again for 5+ minutes, just randomly. 4 times in the span of about the 30 minutes I was out there after it was installed   ---------- Post added at 11:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 PM ----------   They didn't seem loose, seemed...

Just installed new system and sub randomly hitting when the car is off?? Help!

Lol sorry for being a newbie but I need some help. I had a sub (12" Mach 5 sub from 6ish years ago) and an amp (AudioQue 1200 I think, also purchased 6ish years ago) in my old Hyundai. Well, I just bought a 2008 Cadillac CTS4 last month and figured why not take my old system and install it...

Got myself a new car for my Bday today! Can you help me install sub/amp wiring today?

Should I just ignore those cables we can't figure out? The "cable D" cables? Also I've had people say the sub remote volume control is the phone jack and also cable B and D. One guy said pretty confidently it's not B though and another said pretty confidently it is E, the phone jack

Well I'm not just guessing I'm here spending time making threads asking professionals lol. I don't have testing tools, I'm sure I'll take it to a Best Buy or something to confirm what I think once I have a general idea. Thanks bro.
