Are you able to scroll through the music on the h/u and display song titles on the display with the 420i? Or does the h/u just see it as an input and you control what music is played on the iPod?

They seem pretty much the same thing except that 9835 and 9815 have the 5 band parametric eq over your current HU like alphakenny1 said. The 9835 does have the "graphic" display so if that makes a difference to you and you can get a good deal on the 9835, I would upgrade.

I have the 9835 and think its great. It looks great in my dash and sounds great using the factory speakers. I'm getting a component system later this week so I expect it to sound even better. Its loaded with features and have never had any problems with it. I've had it for a year and a half...

What are you asking for the Cliff Design components and what model?
