I'd have to doubt that it's the oil from my hands, as I never touch the face of the cd to begin with. I'm thinking it's just a manufactors defect or "one of those things"

no, the wires weren't colored correctly..looked like someone ghetto rigged them.

figured it out guys for some odd reason i wasn't using the ignition wire. Even though the wire would get a small voltage .06 actually and then .25 when the car was started. I'm guessing that could be the illumination wire. Thanks again.

I thought the ignition wire only sent a small amount of power to let the HU know it needs to turn on? I can put the ignition wire on the actual battery terminal and it won't mess anything up? thanks for the help guys

I have had the hardest time with my us acousitcs amp. It will just randomly stop working in the middle of a song, more commonly when I first start my car. When I turn the HU on the red protection light blinks once then turns off...I have turned my HU off an on many times and that doesn't solve...

Well I just got done checking the ground wire. Same ol ****...made not a **** bit of difference. I checked everything possible, wires, fuses, gain..nothing. I guess I'll have to buy a new one. I had my volume at 24 (alpine 9815) That is high for me..but I have played it that high many times...

Im going to check the ground, I did have a ground loop problem. Don't know if that would effect an amp or not. Thanks for the help btw

Ok i have an alpine 9815, 2 edk12's and a avionx 800.2 amp. the subs are nice and hit hard..but they wont go nearly as loud as they can with the MX on...what can i do to fix this? my previous subs hit hard with or without the mx feature turned on. Mainly the MX feature would be fine to have...
