New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

Appreciate it, thanks guys. I'll check out these amps. They are having me send it back and they are paying for the shipping but I think I would rather just ask for a refund. Quite disappointed with them.

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

I'm not exactly sure how to explain where the ground is located but I used the same spot as a shop used for my previous build. I also made the spot even better by further grinded off the paint and using a nice large set of nuts, bolts, and washers.

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

It was advertised as Brand New as far as I am aware. Seems like it is quite poor quality though. My local shop said if the new headunit with better preamp outs didn't work but the 2 channel lanzar works than the amp is the culprit. I am starting to think they are right.

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

Hmm, this is interesting. I have never heard of this. It seems like you may have saw earlier in this thread but I did use to have some old RCAs and I upgraded to a new set from knukonceptz but it sadly didnt help. What makes rcas unbalanced? Is there something specific in the description I...

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

Well... got the replacement amp. I am having the same issues as before. Up until today when it came in the mail, I had the 2 chan lanzar in and it was awesome. No issues and very loud. Today, I hooked up the replacement amp and barely any output at all. I tried all kinds of eq and crossover...

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

Yea I have a DMM and when the sub was wired to 1 ohm it read about .8 ohms, now with it wired to 4 ohm the dmm reads about 3.6ish. On the old amp it really moves and sounds like I expected it to so Ill keep that in and wait for the new amp.

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

I have tried wiring the sub 1 and 4 ohm to the new amp, neither worked right. Then I kept it wired in 4ohm and hooked up to the old 2 chan and it was shaking my mirrors.

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

Well I know this thread is a couple weeks old but I have an update if you are curious. I did a bunch of troubleshooting over this past weekend and found that the amp I was sent is defective. I hooked up my old lanzar 2 channel at 4 ohms to the sub and it is REALLY loud. Then tried hooking the...

    Question about upgrading battery terminals

It looks about 2x 4 or 8ga to both pos and neg plus the 1/0 on both. I think getting a smaller crimp ring terminal for the stock wires to attach to the post adapter of the ultimate terminal and put the 1/0 into its spot. Otherwise may go with more of a plate terminal but I dont know..

    Question about upgrading battery terminals

I am having some issues with my build and think that upgrading my battery terminals will help. I have heard good things about the ultimate battery terminals at knukonceptz but looking at the OEM terminals I don't quite understand how I would connect them to the new terminal. It looks to be a...

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

I ordered a kenwood last night with 4v preamp outs. I'm hoping and praying that is it because my little upgrade tripled in cost lol

    Question about wiring harness

I am looking to upgrade my deck. I have a double din Pioneer that is 9 years old and I am looking to get a Kenwood double din to take its spot. Would the harness that I have now work with the new unit? I don't think I'll need a new mount kit and I don't care about or use steering wheel volume...

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

I have tried this. The problem is the headunit is about 9 years old which is where I think my problem lies. I can get the voltage to my desired 31ish with the bass boost settings turned all the way up and the gain about 50 percent and even with that it just had no oomph at all. The aux rca...

New build is having an issue and I can't seem to troubleshoot it

So buck, I got the aux to rca today and it definitely is WAY better. I can actually see the sub move with it. 40hz tone actually has some bass to it now. So knowing this, do you think a line booster is all I need or should I start shopping for a new headunit? Appreciate your help man, almost there!
