get on craigslist in your area and look for headunits, you can get really good ones pretty cheap cause of the economy right now

ok i've fixed it now.. apparently a fuse in my fuse box was wiggled loose? and the car driving caused it to give a bad connection, explained the randomness of it. i could "flick" the fuse box and it would set it off. so i feel happy now

ive redone all my grounds and ran a new power wire from as far back as it goes to my head unit, skipping the harness. everything but the ground and power is connected to harness, which are straight to it. thought it might be a connection there. but no

how would that help though? my head unit is only connected to my amp through rca's and remote wire, which i unplugged both from my head unit and is still doing the same thing. cause i was gonna just run it without amp/subs

im not sure, but the head unit doesn't erase memory, it shuts off yet i can still open/close the faceplate
