    Where do I start?

I currently have four Kicker 2-way speakers in my car running off my headunit, which sound great and get loud but I need something better. I know there is 3-ways and what not but I don't have any personal experience with them as I'm new to the audio scene. My current speakers are annoying in...

    45 degree angles with aeroports?

I know you make 45 degree corners when using a slot port but when doing aeroports do you still 45 the corners? Regular rectangle box, sub front port side.

    Aeroport box, 15" DC XL

I changed my design and I'm going with a single 8"x25" tube tuned to around 31hz. I forgot to ask a question in my OP and hope someone sees this!!! I know you make 45 degree corners when using a slot port but when doing aeroports do you still 45 the corners? Regular rectangle box, sub front...

    Aeroport box, 15" DC XL

I'm going to build a box for my 15" DC XL sub soon but would like some help. I have some questions as well as a current design that I would like someone to review. 1. How much port area do you need per square foot when using aeroports? 2. How much space does there need to be between the ends...

12" woofer that does work on lows?

I believe I have narrowed my choice down to either 1-2 RE MT 12's, or 1-2 Mach5 IXL 12's. I don't know much about the RE MT's but a single IXL 12 recommends 1.4 Cu. Ft ported and can handle a lot of power. With two, they should fit perfectly in the space I have. If I do decide to run two Mach5...

12" woofer that does work on lows?

I'm currently limited to a box around 4.5-5 cubic feet so I can only really run one 12" woofer if I want to get the most of out my system. I've been looking for an upgrade and all im looking for is a woofer with 'somewhat-decent' sound quality, loud, and kills low notes. I did some research on...

Not using amp to full potential better for it?

Let's say I was going for one 12" woofer rated around 1000 WRMS. Would it run better/not over heat as easy if I had a amp rated around 2000 WRMS and tune the gain to around the 1000 WRMS rather than buy an amp rated at 1000 WRMS and use full gain? I hope this makes sense

Need help deciding two 12"s or four 8"s!!

I currently have two 12" Kicker Comps running on a 300 watt kicker amp and it just simply isn't enough anymore. I have a 2006 kia spectra "lol" so I don't have much trunk space but I want my lows to be ****ing brutal! I figured two 12"s is 24" cone surface and four 8's is 32" cone surface, so in...

Random bass note takes over stero sometimes, lol?

Problem occurred again driving to work today. When I got to work I turned off the "Xfer" button or whatever it's called to cut off the bass knob and to open the amp to full power all the time. Didn't have the problem at all on the drive home, amp overheated right before I got home though. I...

Random bass note takes over stero sometimes, lol?

After some looking over, the amp ground wire was attached to a part of my trunk that was about 2/8ths of an inch thick with paint on it... Which is why from now on I'm doing my own installs. They had it attached with a small washer and small screw. Under my seat I found a thick piece of metal...

Random bass note takes over stero sometimes, lol?

It's the "Bass Level" knob that came with the setup. I bought my amp, wiring, subs/box all from the same place and they installed it all. The shits been shakin my car apart so I wouldn't doubt if a ground connection has come loose. Thanks for input and any future info. And yea the bass note is...

Random bass note takes over stero sometimes, lol?

When I have my bass knob all the way up and head unit volume where I keep it my shit runs good for an X amount of time and randomly my subs play a bass note which cuts my music off and it just constantly runs this bass note. Turning down the head unit volume does not change or stop the note, I...
