Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Yep, the subs don't move at all when both RCA cables are plugged in. I updated the firmware this morning. Unfortunately it didn't fix my issue, but maybe it'll help someone else in the future! Thank you for the suggestion!

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

This has me quite excited... They specifically call out "Subwoofer Output"... https://kb.alpine-usa.com/article/ilx-w650-firmware-update-version-1-021_1101_f037.html Seems you're definitely onto something with it possibly being firmware. I'm gonna look into performing the upgrade and see if...

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Seems like this *might* be a common issue with the ILX-W650. I just stumbled across this thread, several people having the same issue. None of them mentioned unplugging an RCA, not sure if they tried that. That's my comment at the very end (Kozren). I'll have to check the warranty period on...

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Sounds like it's definitely the HU then. That's a test I did earlier today, and it works fine on each RCA individually, so I think you're right, that it's likely an internal HU issue at this point. Guess I'll ride on it with 1 RCA cable until it's time for an upgrade!

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

I appreciate all of your help thinking this through. Since the sound quality is decent even with just 1 RCA, I might just go that route for now until I upgrade head unit. Only bummer is the head unit I have is an ILX-W650, and I paired that with a KTA-450 amp (they fit together in the double...

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Yep, there is an on/off setting, and a phase setting. I tried both of those. The *only* thing I can do to get the sub to work is unplugging one RCA cable. Very odd situation. I'll be trying another set of RCA cables tomorrow when I get my hands on them. Hopefully it's as simple as that, but at...

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Thanks, that's exactly how I have it set up currently... I bumped the gain up too high at one point and blew the protective screen right off the 10 inch loaded sub I bought, woops! Turned that down, all better now. Unfortunately with the wires connected as they should be, is when I have the...

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

All new equipment from crutchfield. Head unit I've had a couple years, and just now getting around to add an amp and sub. I had an S-A60M I bought about 2 months ago. Crutchfield suspected a bad amp when I asked them, so they sent me the S2-A60M which is apparently the newer version of the...

Oh man, I hope it's not the head unit... Would there be any risk to running it off one RCA cable permanently? Seems like decent sound coming from it... Just don't know if it would cause any issues long term..?

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

I haven't yet, but I did order another set to test. So, it only works if only one RCA cable is plugged in. Doesn't matter which one. I can leave white plugged in, red unplugged, and it works. Leave red plugged in and white unplugged, works. Both plugged in, no dice

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Attaching a few pics in my Google drive here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1thT5Qck7nKTL2Bkx0_ph9vI9W3e4R4P_ For simplicity I hooked up my single sub to rule out any writing mistakes I may have done with the 2 6.5 inch subs I tried switching the rca cables, and from my head unit...

Sub will only work if I have 1 RCA cable plugged in.

Total newbie here... Seeking answers. Tried searching google with no real results. I called Crutchfield and they suspected a bad amp, and replaced it, but same issue exists on new amp. If both RCA cables are plugged in, I get no sound from my sub. If I unplug one of the RCA cables, the sub...
