I know that, but with the constant 12v only it won't turn off with the car, so for the ignition 12v can I just run it from the back of the fuse box?

A buddy of mine bought an 87 mustang, and the wiring for the stereo is a mess, I've deciphered most of it, the only problem is, the power wire is coming straight off the battery, which means its live all the time, and if I hook that up, it'll drain the battery So I've got to run a new power...
