Alright, so when I had the single 12'' in the 1.5 cubed box it made a terrible "clacking" sound at really high volume. It didn't do this in the small boxes, so I'm assuming the 1.5 is too big for it? I didn't know the difference between 1.25 and 1.5 would be so crucial...

I put one in a 1.5cu ft. box just to try it out, gave it 850rms and it slammed! Sounded sooo much better. Got pretty **** low too.
