ok. the 200watts speakers powered by a 300watt (4ohm) bridged amp is most likely the plan. i have 100 watts of extra to play with so lowering the gain IMO will 'eliminte' any unwanted THDs. thanks!

you should be ok with 90 watts. make sure those are clean rms watts and not some 90watts peak cheapo amp im feeding my 63i with 200watts from an orion 800.2. they handle the watts pretty good.

^ kenwood excelon have good input capabilities and i've never really heard anything bad about them.. good price also. i got the eclipse because they seem to give best SQ in the price range spend more time reading the forums before you make the purchase.

i also have an e36 bmw. do not get the 5.25 components, go for 6.5". its not a very difficult install and you will be happy with extra midbass.
