finally someone who found the answer!! thankyou! i will give it a try and next time use a harness.

I downloaded the wire diagram off the internet for my truck and labled all of the wires that went to my factory deck.

then tell me why it still wont turn on if i have it connected to the right wires!!

if the wires form my truck are going to the correct wires on the deck shouldn't that work? i will go get a wiring harness but i dont see how it will fix the issue.

i did not buy a harness, i simply cut the wires from the back of the old one and attached them to the wires leading to a new harness on the deck.

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger and i am upgrading my factory deck but have hit a few problems. yes i did push the on/off button and yes it is connected to the wire connecting it to the battery but for some reason it still wont turn on. I know it has power because the power light is red but no matter...
