    Charging voltage low

For the pt cruiser, neons, and other pcm controlled charging systems these parameters need to be altered with tuning software. The two tuners I recommended and have used are the hp tuner and Diablo tuner platform. With HP these parameters can be adjusted by the user, with the Diablo platform the...

    Charging voltage low

the issue was in the battery temp sensor parameters. here in florida the ambient temp is 100 and the temp sensor is set to reduce charging voltage at 90 degrees. after changing those parameters the charging voltage now rests at 14.8-9

    Charging voltage low

The pigtail is brand-new, 3 days old. I'll re-strip and crimp it to see if that works; I'm thinking the terminals are fine, but I'll give them a check too. I'm not sure if the diode trick would work? The pt cruiser's alternator is controlled by the pcm, and so far I've had to get new tunes in...

    Charging voltage low

After a recent rebuild of my engine, the charging voltage has been reduced to 13.5v from 14.7v. the cables were not disconnected from battery terminals, and everything is damn tight. It will jump from 13.5 to 14.5 or 14.7 sometimes on start-up, but there is no relation to battery temp; it will...

Signal from loc really high and amplifier in protect

would this also be the reason it's going into protect?

Signal from loc really high and amplifier in protect

the audio from the headunit also sounds really clipped when playing rebassed music, more than I've heard before. idk, everything about this car is giving me a headache.

Signal from loc really high and amplifier in protect

I think the signal out of my loc is too high. I can only turn the gain a hair off "minimum" and the subwoofer gets considerably loud. most songs with punchy bass play normal, but songs with sustained lows send the amp into protect instantaneously on the drop. The car is a 2018 Challenger, stock...

    Battery terminals scorching hot

New subwoofer installed. Playing some songs at 1500ish on a sundown sfb-5000 @ 2ohm, stretching the legs of a sundown zv6 18". Noticed a smell and the negative terminal on the back battery was scorching hot. Hottest at the point where the terminal seats on the battery. Almost all tinned OFC...

    Alternator whine issue

better than grounding to chassis and going through 8-10ft of aluminum still having to transfer through lugs, and the run of 0/1 from chassis to battery. yeah, seat is not powered so no issues there.

    Alternator whine issue

Battery, at most 6ft pt cruiser headunit is kenwood kmmbt525hd; grounded on the same bolt as the battery's chassis ground, and ran with 12awg ofc to headunit's wires. amplifier is rockford 600x4; 0/1 ofc ran to battery posts with d4s 6spot-distro, and 4awg copper reducer at amp front battery is...

    Alternator whine issue

meh, some $10 cables. I'm putting money aside for sundown 4chnl RCA's; shielded and ofc. After bolting a block ground to the battery the sound got quieter but I still notice it from time to time.
