US Acoustics Amps Are they any good?

Thanks for the feedback, I knew I needed to get rid of the SSL's, I'm delving into the Sq competition, actually got a decent score 1st time out without a processor, still using Oem head unit for now with Audiocontrol Lc7i, I since added the Audiocontrol DQDX, I just got Barbara Ann & Mike...

US Acoustics Amps Are they any good?

I haven't posted here in a while but I have been trolling periodically checking things out. I've decided to try my hand at audio SQL competition. I entered my first one last summer, did ok for a rookie first time out. Anyway I came across this brand of amp and I'm curious if any of you are...

Need help with a modification please!

I like that tool, I'm definitely going to purchase one I looked at an electric one for like $32, that would surely work for a number of projects. Thanks again!

Need help with a modification please!

Update: Here are some pics of the outcome - wound up having to use tin snips where the plastic was too thick for the nippers, and had to trim the vinyl and foam backing off the area I wanted cut because the nipper opening wasn't wide enough. I fashioned the grill out of a mesh folder holder I...

    hole saw through leather?

I just asked that same question in another thread, --> http://www.caraudio.com/forums/enclosure-design-construction-help/612214-need-help-modification-please.html I'm going to try using a nibbler, I found one on ebay for $16, probably can pic one up from a computer place, they are used to...

Need help with a modification please!

Definitely thought about the hole saw, tin snips would have worked too, but I think the cut would have been a bit jagged. Wanted to make sure the cut was as smooth as I could get it, because at least it will look ok until I can get the grills done.

Need help with a modification please!

Found one on ebay for $16, I'll wait on it, shouldn't take too long to show up. In the mean time I'll figure out how I'm going to do the grill, I don't think I want to leave it exposed. If I can't find a premade grill to my liking will try my hand at making one myself. I did try something with...

Need help with a modification please!

I'm wanting to modify the space where a 1" tweeter was mounted in my rear door panels to be able to mount a 3 1/2" full range speaker. My issue or lack there of (depending on how you look at it) is what do I use to make the cut? I have the template for the hole, (it's marked) I have a variable...

Unexplained sub woofer behavior, can you help me find what's happening ?

I had that problem years ago with some subs, I checked everything, or so I thought. turned out it was the braided wire on the sub itself that was the problem. The solder joint separated. Once I fixed that no more sub going in and out. That may not be your problem, but it won't hurt to check.

    amp overheating

I have an amp that runs hot normally, Cadence 5000.5, I had a piece of 1"x1" that I cut an inch less than the diameter of the amp, (2 pieces) then used velcro to attach the 1x to the amp and then used some on the bottom of the 1x so it wouldn't slide on the carpet. May sound crude but it works...
