    Might be a battery in poor condition, but getting a better isolator will go a long way....dual rectifier isolator from Perfect Switch is best I've seen on the market.

    If you do go with an isolator, the only one worth a sh*t is the Perfect Switch. Uses MOSFETS and has so little voltage drop, I can barely read it with my meter.

    If you're going to put in a battery isolator, go with a POWER-GATE. Not cheap but just plain works as advertised.

    Get a dual rectifier from Perfect Switch. It works with internal or externally regulated alternators.
