Weird distorsion in only one channel only when sub is plugged in???

ok, so if there no more ideas, how about ways to get around it? I was thinking that i could bridge BOTH 6*9" speakers over channel 1 and 2, when i tried this, the funny sound went away but is this ok? will twice as much power still go to the sub as either one of the smaller speakers? or will...

I tried swapping over the sub to channels 3+4 and speakers to 1 + 2 but this time it was channel 1 that was causing the problem. I also checked all the ground points and they all look fine. Any other ideas that i could try out? Thanks heaps for looking... Cheers

Weird distorsion in only one channel only when sub is plugged in???

No, i haven't tried moving to other channels, it got dark outside before i had a chance. I'm pretty sure the bridge is fitted correctly and there is no mono switch! Thanks for the suggestions, i'll give the swap over a go tomorrow and see what happens tho... i hope i dont have to take the amp...

Subwoofer box design and Qts value

Gday everyone, Just a quick question... I was reading on another website (http://www.diysubwoofers.org/prt/) that ported boxes should really only be for subwoofers with a Qts below 0.5 (or preferably 0.4). I havent seen this anywhere else and cant find it anywhere else on this forum. I was...

    Rear speakers/sub/amp configuration, need help!

Thanks for that, it looks like a nice easy solution! Probably be best to have one female split to two males tho and have the splitter plugged into the amp wouldn't it? I'm just thinking it be a bit neater and pick up less engine noise... Cheers!

    Rear speakers/sub/amp configuration, need help!

Thats cool! I think for anyone else, having a look at the pictures might really help because i think there is a spot on the amp that maybe i can also attach the rear speaker wire from the head unit to on the amp and them go from the amp(say channel 3 and 4) to the rear speakers... I'm not sure...

    Rear speakers/sub/amp configuration, need help!

Thanks Geowick My problem is that i dont have two sets of preouts on the head unit. There is only 2 plugs, rather than 4. I.e. 1 left, 1 right. The amp has one plug for each of the four channels. I probably didnt make that very clear in my first post! Would i connect the left(from the...

    Rear speakers/sub/amp configuration, need help!

Gday, I've just got myself a new 4*200 watt amp, 12" 800watt sub and 2 300watt 6*9" speakers with the idea that i'd bridge the sub across two channels and run the rear speakers from the other two channels. The problem i have is that the head unit only has two RCA line outputs(one left and one...
