Probably because most people running 3-4kw have a battery close to the amp so it's not really necessary to have dual inputs.

I think you would be okay. I ran my saz-1500d @ 1ohm with a 80 amp alt, big 3, and a dedicated ground and stayed in the 13's most of the time... with the stock battery.
