    Honestly it was plenty loud enough with just the alpine head unit and rockford fosgate door speakers. However I never added a sub and amp to any of my builds before so I wanted to see how it would turn out.

    got the 300 amp alternator installed today, no more dimming lites. It has 150 amp at idle and 300 amps at 1200rpm. I probably should have upgraded before adding the sub and amp since it still had the original 18 year old one.

    Well the next step in my build, I ordered a 300 amp alternator. After getting the gain set as close to requirements as possible and the sub broken in, certain songs are causing the lights to dim . It has a 135 amp alternator, 1/0 big 3 and a 2 farad cap. So I figured it was smart to upgrade...

    thanks, I have had it for just over 1.5 years. I did take the 2 jump seats out of the extended cab area, I will try to get a video of it this weekend. It is a mono/ class D amp. 1200 watt rms at 1 ohm the sub is 800 watt rms
