How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

So if im streaming music from my phone, do I set it 100% volume on the phone then 75% at the radio? Even with the gains set to zero that seems pretty loud already. I was having trouble getting a sense of how loud they could go before being damaged. Do I push them to slight distortion then reduce...

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Thanks. I wired this up today with the y splitters and it sounds good but the 6x9s at the back are really quiet compared to the front speakers. Can I change this by adjusting the gain dials on the amp? Along with getting the volume balanced out, are you able to say roughly what these should be...

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Thanks for checking that. I tried this today but unfortunately I don't get any sound from the rear speakers when just the 'front' RCAs are plugged into the 4-channel amp. Any ideas? Would it work if I get 2 RCA Y-splitters so the 'front' RCAs can be plugged into the front and rear ports?

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Hey, Ended up getting some Vibe Slick component speakers for the front and Slick coaxial 6x9s for the back shelf. Also ended up fitting a 4 channel amp in the back to get the most out of them. Having some trouble connecting the sub and 6x9s up. Was originally planning to run an RCA lead from...

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Ok great. For the stock tweeters (near the wing mirrors) would it be better to disconnect these too for the same reson? Or would it be better to leave/upgrade them?

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

At first I didn't think there were any rear speakers but it seems there is 2 sets in each door (2-door car). I'm guessing ones at the back of the door are powered by the 'rear' wires. These do not sound good at all and the sound fires out below the hips into the seats. What do you think about...

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Thanks for that but i'm based in the UK so will need to look for some a bit closer.. I finished wiring the sub and the HU today. The bass sounds great:D Also got the wiring in place ready to install the 6x9s to the shelf. Made a black trim to fill the gap around the HU with a plastic 'drain...

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Thanks for your help To clarify: - Power cable with fuse from battery to sub - Ground cable from sub to chassis - RCAs from RSW out on head unit to RCA in on sub - 2 sets of speaker wires by tapping into the rear R/L +/- wires behind the HU leading to back shelf - Do these then connect...

How to wire 6x9s with active subwoofer

Hi everyone I have a Vibe active subwoofer and a Pioneer MVH-AV290BT head unit (images below) to install in my 2005 Mercedes c220. I think I understand how to wire these. I'm also looking to get a pair of 6x9s to go on the parcel shelf. The amp is built into the back of the subwoofer and there...
