New comps $100-150, think I blew my old ones

Thank you for the response. Do you think the crossover and tweeter are okay on my set, im thinking I could just pick up another set of mid bass drivers and be fine. If I wanted to test them I would connect my multimeter to the terminal of the mid bass and it should read 4 ohms, right? If not...

New comps $100-150, think I blew my old ones

Well every 2 years or so I have been taking my Phoenix gold rsd 65 out of my door and cleaning off the terminals and making sure the mount is tight. This time I was curious what the "+2db" on the crossover was and turned it on, well I noticed the speakers were significantly louder this time and...

Mid bass cut out after installing subwoofer, Help!

I have had an alpine cda-9847 head unit and phoenix gold rsd 6.5 component speakers and an alpine pdx 2.150 amp to power them. I recently installed out of my brothers car a sub and small amp to check it out. It was working and then it shorted and a red light on my head unit came on, I then...

    Coax 6x9 for rear bass

Would sound weird if you crossed some coax 6x9s around 80hz for some bass?

Any ides for new 4 channel amp

Found out my spring semester wont start till tomorrow so I had some time to shop around. It appear these are both good choices but do you think the Rockford fosgate rated at 50rmsx4 will out perform the infinity rated at 75rmsx4? I read that most of the time this amp is underrated, also how...

Any ides for new 4 channel amp

Looking to sell my Alpine PDX 2.150 and replace it with a 4 channel amp and putting some 6.5 or 6x9 subwoofers in my rear deck. Kinda hoping to pay no more for the 4 channel than what i sell the PDX for, so budget $150-200, desired wattage 60-100rms @ 4ohms. I know this is quite a loss of...

Upgrading 08 jeep speakers in stock loactions

Thank you for your reply. I am aware of how a component set of speakers work but am unaware if the newer stock jeeps do anything special in there set up. Technology advances and since I have not done this in a few years I am behind. What I am asking is if anyone here has ever just connected a...

Upgrading 08 jeep speakers in stock loactions

I was unaware of the new dash speaker size, thanks for the correction. I should have time tomorrow to take the grills off and take a closer look. Do you know how the components work? Does it split off a crossover somewhere or do the wires go into the head unit individually or something that im...

Upgrading 08 jeep speakers in stock loactions

Hello there, I am looking to upgrade all the speakers and the 8" subwoofer while keeping them in there stock locations on a 2008 wrangler sahara. I realize they wont perform as well without a dedicated amp but later on I may do a deck and nice little 5 channel amp. Anyways the stock 8" sub is a...

    Upgrade Rsd65cs

Looking to upgrade my RSd's to something a little better. The tweeters on these guys arent the smoothest and I have 150rms per side to work with. Was thinking about getting either the Alpine SPX-17REF or the Image Dynamics CTX65CS. What do you think?

    New sealed 12" sub $200

First off my MAW-15 is just too **** big in my trunk and i need to downsize, plus one of the voice coils is blown so it scratches the side when it hits. I am a normal audio listener who enjoys a little bass whether it be hip hop or rock. I have 800rms to work with, a couple options ive...

    xover point for mids

For rap and hiphop 80hz, if your running more rock then 60 or 70hz would be fine. I run a mix of both so im at 80hz and its fine.
