My headunit is grounded to the stock location. Should i run a new ground to somewhere that i know is good? Are there any preferable locations to ground a headunit? Jack.

oh, ok, the noise gets higher pitched and louder with higher revs, is that what ground loop does?

Hi, ive just installed a second amp to my 1992 BMW 325. I still have the factory alternator. The alternator has started whining since, and i was just wondering what effect this has on the car apart from making a funny noise. Will it harm the alternator or cause the car to run any differently...

Thanks guys, that is all i wanted to know. I was just unsure wether i needed to send the speakers back because i was expecting more out of them. I didnt know how much diiference an amp up front would make, but i'll get one as soon as i can afford one!

Sorry, i think i mis-phrased it. I probably should have said my fronts were too quiet!? The sub sounds good when it gets loud its just the speakers do start to clip a bit early and i cant take the sub as far as i want without it sounding too bassy. The brands ive been looking at are alpine...
