So I currently have a garbage Alpine HU (CDE-121), but am not in a position where I can outright replace it. My only issue with the unit is the lack of a digital EQ, and as a result of this, a total lack of mids. Would running a dry eq be a good idea, as I don't really want to replace the deck...

Could anyone point me to an example of this? I'm having a terrible time visualizing it. Also, would slanting the back piece of the box do the same thing?
