as for running the wires i like to use a wire hanger. you cut the hook off and straighten it out. then you can feed the hanger through the body of the car into the door cavity. securly attach the new wires to the end of the wire hanger and carefully pull it back out and the wire will be in...
i am not familiar with the layout of your car's stock speaker locations... but where are you going to mount the tweeters and what exactly do you mean "can't find a way to run the wires"? do you mean the way you physically run the wires or the wiring configuration and hook up to the HU?
i know that the accessory wire in my (crappy) 1990 ford escort is the yellow/black wire, but, my HU loses power after the ignition is turned off for more than a couple of minutes. i would like to just run my own accessory wire. i have had trouble in the past with the wiring in this car. can...
man... this car is so old and crappy those wire colors don't even exist. that is why i was having trouble with it. guess i will have to do what i normally do... run my own wires. i was just hoping to not have to do that twice. tonight i just wanted to throw my HU in with the stock speakers in...
now having trouble with the speaker wires (thought it would be easy...) it apears that the left front is the solid green and the right front is the white/red stripe. as soon as i hook these up both speakers work WITHOUT connecting the other speaker wire. the sound is very faint and distorted...
does any one know the wire color for 1990 ford escort - power wires that is. for some strange reason the ground is "RED". what colors are the 12v switched and the constant accessory wires????

you are a year late on this topic... it was started in 2002!! but anyway, tell me what the exact problem you are having is and what type of amp and subs you have and all the specs (watts, ohms, voice coils, wiring, etc.)
if you are looking for sound quality... i would advise against any rear speaker! stick with the components upfront and the subs in the rear! that's my opinion.
Has anyone ever heard of or listened to "Absolute" brand speakers? I know you usually get what you pay for... but, they look like they are made very well, on the internet anyway. I am looking for a pair of 6.5" coaxils that i will be powering with a MTX 50x2 amp. Problem is... well two things...
