I agree about the last part. But when I said it stemmed from reggae i shortened it. Reggae has a sub genre, dub. And electronic/jungle/dnb started mixing it in since it had slower, more relaxing beats and made it into a genre of it's own. Thus dmz, skream, benga, vexd, bar9, caspa, etc were...

Just saying. Most people have the wrong idea of what dubstep is. A lot of **** put out now is just noise. but it originated from reggae. Thats how I got into it back in 06, went through a phase and found it, but dub's been my favorite since. Some tracks are awesome, a widely used example...

Somewhat wrong, different subs perform differently in certain enclosures. Granted you might be able to make something work, but it may(and most likely will not) perform to it's full capabilities. And generally ported boxes have a bit more "oomph" to them on low notes, sealed is more towards sq...

Theyll do the job as a last resort... But I HIGHLY recommend you build your box so you can get it tuned to what you want AND give your subs the optimal airspace that they need. It's not all about the subs, the box is just as much a factor.
