    sub is buzzing, please help

Yes, i've fiberglassed a little. I ended up squeezing some rubber pads between the console and the floorboard (on the speaker side), and the buzzing stopped for the most part. If I turn the bass way up, the sub rattles off the console's grill a little, but 95% of the time I have the bass set...

Jeep Wrangler center console subwoofer and hidden amplifier install (pictures)

Thank you everyone for your help these last few weeks, I managed to stretch this project out a little longer by installing an amp kill switch inside the ash tray; but it's finally over. Pictures can be found here: Jeep subwoofer and amplifier install | PhillipYu.com

amp kill switch - lighted rocker switch

A relay really isn't a problem, I've already wired a few things behind my dash and there are places where I can tap into a constant 12v power source. What type of relay would you recommend for this switch?

amp kill switch - lighted rocker switch

thanks guys, ya, I eat fast food in my jeep alot (with the engine off), and would just like to be able to kill the amp and still listen to the radio. I thought that might not be enough power to illuminate the switch. I don't care that much if it lights up or not, I just want to be sure i'm...

amp kill switch - lighted rocker switch

okay, I think someone should be able to answer this pretty easy. I'm just not 100% on how to wire this switch and it came with basically no directions. It's an illuminated rocker switch with three prongs, and a crappy sticker that says 'EARTH, LOAD, SUPPLY'...i get that I think --> ground...

    sub is buzzing, please help

Thanks, but removing the grill would mean hacking up the center console. I don't want to lose the stock look or advertise that I have that sub in there. Would tightening the console/grill down onto the face of the sub be a bad idea? This would be the easiest thing to do, and it seems like it...

    sub is buzzing, please help

I recently installed an 8" in a custom box to go inside my center console (see pic), it sounds great EXCEPT it bumps against the center console's plastic grill and since the sub is a little bigger than the grill and not perfectly centered, it bumps against the inside of the center console a...

audio techs please help me set up my amp/sub correctly

One other question on the speaker wire input the amp: I'm only using one sub, so I want to wire it according the installation manual's 'Bridged' diagram?

audio techs please help me set up my amp/sub correctly

thanks for the replies, yes, i will be using the remote 'punch level control', i just mounted it today (nothing is hooked up yet though). What is the optimal way to use the gain level on the amp and the punch level control? thanks again, i realize some of my questions probably seem silly

audio techs please help me set up my amp/sub correctly

Okay, I know very little about tweaking an amp and subwoofer, so I hope you all can tell me how to adjust the amp. The subwoofer is a Kenwood 8" in a sealed box. The box is probably a little smaller than the recommended cubic feet, I've stuffed it with polyfill to help that, but keep that in...

hehe, just ordered the 8 gauge kit from Knu, the random wires and whatnot that I originally planned on using now seems like a pretty idiotic idea. thanks for all the help folks

    what guage power wire?

rated power: 125x1 @ 4 ohms / 250x1 @ 2 ohms battery fuse rating: 25A fuse on the amp: 30A so 8 guage is the way to go? and stupid question, but the ground wire size isn't as crucial, right?
